I want to help people to feel better by helping them to gain insight, change negative core beliefs and replace negative beliefs with positive beliefs. I see all of us as being in the same predicament. We all have something we could work on, something we could improve, so let’s just put it out there in a safe place like a therapist’s office. Let’s examine it and get to the root cause behind it. This is the human condition, so let’s tackle it together.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland. I have worked in community mental health and in private practice. I am certified in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and ART (accelerated resolution therapy). My approach is with humor and compassion. I find it humbling that anyone would share their pain with me. Likewise, I find it humbling when people experience healing as a result of the work we do together.
These are some of the approaches that I use with my clients:
-
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
-
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
-
Trauma-Informed Modalities (e.g. Inner Child Work & Reparenting)
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Brainspotting
-
Christian Counseling
-
Psychotherapy/Talk Therapy
-
Motivational Interviewing
-
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
-
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
When I’m not working as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My husband and I have a large, blended family, with four adult children and 11 grandchildren, and we are empty nesters. I am also very passionate about travel. I am curious about any place that I have never been. I especially love visiting cities in foreign countries.
